This sweet boy is Duke! Duke is a seventy-five-pound sweetheart with a heart as big as his paws! 

He’s neutered, up to date on most of his vaccinations, and currently on heartworm prevention. Duke’s story is one of resilience — when he was found wandering down a street in Houston, he was injured and alone. Despite his rough past, he chose kindness and connection — he walked right up to a friend's house and never left her side.

It appears Duke may have sustained wounds from another dog or possibly burns, but his fur is growing back beautifully, and his spirit is shining through more each day. He’s calm, loyal, and incredibly loving — the kind of dog who just wants to be near his people. He is also a great companion for other dogs! He plays well with smaller dogs even, including a five-pound chihuahua!

Duke is ready for the next chapter of his journey — one filled with love, comfort, and the forever home he truly deserves.
